"ROOTS OF THE BLUES" with keynote presenter KAT DANSER: The Folk Steps 2018 Music Conference has been planned for the opening day of the Lunenburg Folk Harbour Festival, Thursday, August 9, from 9:30am to 4:00pm. The Conference is produced by the Lunenburg Folk Harbour Society and is designed to stimulate interest in traditional folk music.
Since 2010, the conference has offered an educational opportunity for audiences to explore a particular facet of folk music and understand its relevance to today. The program includes expert presentations along with performance and discussion. The format is relaxed and includes performances as well as opportunities for fun, learning and audience participation, according to the Conference web site. For 2018, the Folk Steps theme is "Roots of the Blues", with keynote performer, Kat Danser.
The lineup for the 20186 Workshop participants is stellar, and includes; Robert and Bernice Jones, Ced Marty and Dave, Ruthie Foster and Doris Mason
