4rd Annual Local Food Dinner and Silent Auction Fundraiser
Second Story Women’s Centre

Second Story Women’s Centre is pleased to announce their 4rd annual Local Food Dinner and Silent Auction will be held on Thursday, June 23th at the Boscawen Inn in Lunenburg. Created by Sweet and Saucey Catering, the menu includes an asparagus vichyssoise; beef tenderloin with a forest mushroom sauce, summer solstice vegetables, and baby potatoes; and an apple poutine with salted caramel and Ironworks rum sauce.  A vegetarian forest mushroom ravioli with lemon thyme sauce is available by advance request. The Boscawen will offer an open bar for the evening as well.

The silent auction and bar open at 6 pm and dinner will begin at 7. The silent auction will offer a wide range of tantalizing items, including gift certificates for many local restaurants, works by local artists, and a private dinner for 4 by Martin Salvador of Fleur de Sel. All proceeds will support Second Story Women’s Centre in their work to help women and girls in Lunenburg County reach their full potential.

The benefit raises up to $4000 each year, which allows allows Second Story to offer programming such as Girl Talk (a series of free summer camps for girls age 9-12), monthly community lunches, creativity and skills programming for women and girls, and food security work, according to community relations coordinator Elisabeth Bailey.

Tickets are available now for $40 apiece at Second Story Women’s Centre in the old train station at 18 Dufferin in Lunenburg. Group tables are available.
