In reviewing the record of campaign events of the three top contenders, Trudeau has visited Nova Scotia three times, versus once each by Mr. Harper and Mr. Mulcair.</p> <p>While 3.5% of Trudeau's events(82) were in Nova Scotia, his two rivals marked 1.5% of events in the province (Harper-64, Mulciar-70).</p> <p>Meanwhile, Stephen Harper spent 55% of his visits in Ontario, Tom Mulcair 45% and Justin Trudeau 35%.</p> <p>There is no dismissing the possibility that Trudeau came here for the love, but with polls indicating a strong Liberal showing in the region, he may have just been playing his cards smartly</p> </div></div></div><div class="service-links"><a href="https://twitter.com/share?url=http://www.southcoasttoday.ca/content/trudeau-shows-nova-scotia-some-love&amp;count=horizontal&amp;via=&amp;text=Trudeau shows Nova Scotia some love&amp;counturl=http://www.southcoasttoday.ca/content/trudeau-shows-nova-scotia-some-love" class="twitter-share-button service-links-twitter-widget" title="Tweet This" rel="nofollow" target="_blank"><span class="element-invisible">Tweet Widget</span></a> <a href="https://www.facebook.com/plugins/like.php?href=http://www.southcoasttoday.ca/content/trudeau-shows-nova-scotia-some-love&amp;layout=button_count&amp;show_faces=false&amp;action=like&amp;colorscheme=light&amp;width=100&amp;height=21&amp;font=&amp;locale=" title="I Like it" class="service-links-facebook-like" rel="nofollow" target="_blank"><span class="element-invisible">Facebook Like</span></a> <a href="https://www.facebook.com/sharer.php" title="Share this post on Facebook" class="service-links-facebook-widget" rel="http://www.southcoasttoday.ca/content/trudeau-shows-nova-scotia-some-love" target="_blank">Share on Facebook</a></div><div class="field field-name-field-tags field-type-taxonomy-term-reference field-label-above"><div class="field-label">Tags:&nbsp;</div><div class="field-items"><div class="field-item even" rel="dc:subject"><a href="/general/justin-trudeau" typeof="skos:Concept" property="rdfs:label skos:prefLabel" datatype="">justin trudeau</a></div><div class="field-item odd" rel="dc:subject"><a href="/general/stephen-harper" typeof="skos:Concept" property="rdfs:label skos:prefLabel" datatype="">stephen harper</a></div><div class="field-item even" rel="dc:subject"><a href="/general/tom-mulciar" typeof="skos:Concept" property="rdfs:label skos:prefLabel" datatype="">tom mulciar</a></div><div class="field-item odd" rel="dc:subject"><a href="/general/canda-election-2015" typeof="skos:Concept" property="rdfs:label skos:prefLabel" datatype="">canda election 2015</a></div><div class="field-item even" rel="dc:subject"><a href="/general/nova-scotia" typeof="skos:Concept" property="rdfs:label skos:prefLabel" datatype="">nova scotia</a></div></div></div> Wed, 30 Sep 2015 18:17:35 +0000 Timothy Gillespie 4095 at http://www.southcoasttoday.ca http://www.southcoasttoday.ca/content/trudeau-shows-nova-scotia-some-love#comments Opinion: Who's using Yankee tactics now? http://www.southcoasttoday.ca/content/opinion-whos-using-yankee-tactics-now <div class="field field-name-body field-type-text-with-summary field-label-hidden"><div class="field-items"><div class="field-item even" property="content:encoded"><p><span style="font-family:lucida sans unicode,lucida grande,sans-serif;"><strong><span style="font-size:18px;">Grassroots and the boogeyman</span></strong></span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px;">Among the flurry of desperate pitches I get each day from Tom, Justin, Mary, Dick and Bob wanting me to send $3, $5, $20, $100 to defeat Tom, Justin and Steve was this gem today from the NDP marked <strong>"URGENT: before midnight"</strong></span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px;">Fair enough.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px;">In the email pitch, they said: "We recently learned that Stephen Harper’s friends set-up U.S.-style political action committees in Canada.
