Plume Community Room exhibition: March 2-29, 2012
Le Conseil des Arts de la Baie (Le CAB) is staging a major exhibit at the AGNS Yarmouth Branch from March 2-31. Le CAB has been offering programming in visual art since its inception in 1968. The geographic area normally served is "La Baie Sainte-Marie"(Clare).
Diane Besner, CEO for Conseil des Arts de la Baie explains that the organization’s focus is on traditional and contemporary visual arts in various media.
Aside from providing support, instruction and programming for artists at various stages of their development, Le CAB also operates Le Trécarré Galerie d'art Contemporain (part of Rendez-vous cultural center that opened in 2009) and La Manivelle print shop, a fine art printmaking studio offering training, supplies, and equipment for various printmaking techniques.
Besner is excited about the exhibit in Yarmouth. “We will have about 30 artist members taking part. The theme is PLUME (feather) and there will be everything from prints to solar plate, oil on canvas, photos, acrylique and sculptures.”
Daily Open studio Each month the gallery offers a different theme allowing the children to play around with different ideas and images throughout the gallery. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
