The Shelburne Municipal Council has some new faces at the table, including a new warden and deputy warden. After all councilors were recently elected by acclaimation, the Council elected a new warden and deputy warden at a Special Council Meeting Thursday night. Former municipal clerk Penny Smith was elected warden and returning councilor David Levy will be the deputy warden.
Saying in a Friday news release that the McNeil government "should focus on bargaining, not advertising", the NDO caucus took shots at the what they describe as "partisan ads to undermine teachers, along with a coordinated government media blitz..." as part of a government attempt to "force a teachers’ strike."
“If Stephen McNeil has something to say to teachers, he should say it at the bargaining table,” said NDP Leader Gary Burrill.
AtlantiCann Medical Inc.(AMI) president Christine Halef announced in a news release Thursday that AMI has decided to re-locate their proposed medical marijuana license application with Health Canada to a BANC-owned property in Halifax. BANC is a successful real estate developer based in Halifax and is owned by Halef's father Besim.
