Boularderie Island Press, in conjunction with the Shelburne County Arts Council (SCAC), will be launching its new anthology, a compilation of Shelburne County writers’ work, on Friday, Nov. 1, starting at 7 p.m. at the Black Loyalist Heritage Centre in Birchtown.

Salt and Wild: Shelburne County Anthology will be published as a trade paperback, and the Boularderie Island Press publisher, Douglas Arthur Brown, will be present to introduce his company, as well as several of his other authors and their books.

The book’s co-editors, SCAC writer-in-residence E. Alex Pierce and Susan Hoover, will introduce the Shelburne County anthology writers who will be reading excerpts from their respective works.

Authors featured in the anthology include Darcy Rhyno, Virginia Boudreau, Marcia Pierce Harding, BL Mooney, Rachael Hanakowski, Jane Alexander, Dayle M. Eshelby, Joan MacAdams Page, Sue Deschene, Janet V. Miller, Mike Hartigan, Terry Hawkins, R. V. Stork, Patricia Pedross, Elizabeth Pooley, Denise Reashore, Christine Curry, Eileen Sanderson, Cheryl Pink, Jill S. Smith, Anthony Caruso, Eva Romanczak, Jill M. Smith, Jana Traff, Susan Hoover, E. Alex Pierce and Kathleen Tudor.

The book will be available for purchase, and the authors will be happy to sign copies. Refreshments will be served at the book launch.

Earlier that same day, there will also be a panel discussion and workshop hosted by Boularderie Island Press and the Shelburne County Arts Council, along with some of the featured Salt and Wild authors. The panel discussion starts at 3 p.m. at McKay Memorial Library in Shelburne.

Both events are free and open to the public.
