Failin' Health - Bringing the blues back

Friday, January 25, 2013

Friday, Jan 25
Failin' Health

Failin' Health is a Blues Duo, consisting of the brothers Freddie and Arty(Sleepy Dog) Jones, living one day at a time in Yarmouth County, Nova Scotia. Friday, Jan 25, they play at the Sea Dog, where there is a $5.00 cover and the show starts at 8:00pm.

Born in The Boarsback, in the deep woods of Nova Scotia, the boys grew up dirt poor. Living this way taught them the meaning of "The Blues" and they soon were playing and singing the music they loved. When they were old enough, they moved to the big city to pursue their dreams.

First to go was Freddie, followed by younger brother Arty (nicknamed Sleepy Dog because he is prone to suddenly falling asleep). The big city is where they learned their chops, Arty on guitar, kazoo and vocals, and Freddie on Harmonica and vocals.

Now in the twilight of their careers, Arty and Freddie have moved back to their roots and have been entertaining audiences in the Maritimes with their unique blend of blues and rock and roll.

Failin' Health was the opening act at Allan Crosby's CD release party at the Osprey Art Centre in 2012 and packed them in at their Hootenanny debut last August.

Freddie and Arty will appear at the Friday Night Hootenanny on August 17.

They will be Bringing the Blues back!
