Britannia. Old Blighty. The Old Sod. Blarney. Caledonia. All names associated with the British Isles, ancestral home for many who live in our area.
On Saturday, January 12 at 8 pm, The Pipers Guild and the Osprey Arts Centre will combine forces to present Music of the Isles, an evening of songs and dances from the British Isles.
Highlights will be songs from England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales, as well as dances from the region by our wonderful MacKenzie Dancers from Yarmouth.
Performers include the all-new Killick, performing together for the first time, the Pit Band under Bill Smith, the trio of Pat Demolitor, Merrie Howe and Pat Melanson, and some surprise performers as well!
The show will be over two hours of glorious entertainment that is sure to get toes tapping and voices raised in chorus.
James Graham shall be your host for the evening, keeping everything moving along in his rich Scottish brogue.
This will be another very popular show for the Osprey, so reservations are highly recommended.
Tickets can be purchased from the Whirligig by calling 875-1117 or going to the Osprey website. Tickets are $20, so Melanson says invite your friends to join you for this wonderful romp through the history and culture of the British Isles.
