Naming the Twins at the Sea Dog
Naming the Twins returns to the Friday Night Hootenanny at the Sea Dog, November 21 at 8pm. The folk duo of Robbie Smith and Kathleen Glauser is a lively pair who entertains with both well chosen covers and the very masterly originals by Smith. On stage their interaction is witty and wry, with Robbie as the lead singer on most tunes and Kathleen livening them with her enthusiastic harmonies.
Their songs are part folk, jazz, traditional, old-fashioned, corny, reminiscent of something, sing-along-able and fun. In short, audiences love them, especially any of the compositions to do with the sea, and especially Sea fever. There are hints of Gordon Lightfoot, Ian and Sylvia, James Fagan and Nancy Kerr, Chris de Burgh and Jim Stewart throughout their sets, but audiences seem to mostly appreciate that they have written and performed the songs their way.
