Nikita Lopoukhine, former general director of Parks Canada, wrote in The Hill Times Thursday that, as Canada readies itself for an election in 2015, there are 10 Top environmental issues that need to be taken up by an environmentally responsible party. They are:

Nikita (Nik) Lopoukhine retired in 2005 from Parks Canada as director general national parks. He is the former member of the Council of the International Union for the Conservation of Nature and chair of World Commission on Protected Areas. He is also the recipient of the 2012 Canadian Parks and Wilderness Society Harkin Award, the 2013 Canadian Council on Ecological Areas Gold Leaf Award and in 2014 a medal from the U.S.-based Brandwein Institute.
