Most of us will recall the hue and cry which erupted last year surrounding the “blockade” of the community meeting about salmon aquaculture science at the high school. Most vocal among the protesters was Shelburne’s mayor, who explained to CBC and others that much of the economic pressure here was because Shelburne was “a dying town.”
More truthfully, the area is not really dying, it is eating itself alive, from the inside out.
